Cornerstone Academy Earns “Excellent” Academic Rating
September 24th, 2009Cornerstone Academy has earned an “Excellent” academic rating from the Ohio Department of Education (ODE). A rating of Excellent with Distinction is awarded to schools that earn an Excellent rating 3 years in a row. Cornerstone is one of 21 charters in the State of Ohio to earn the rating for the 2008-2009 school year.
The rating system was created during the 2005-2006 school year as part of the Local Report Card school academic accountability system by the ODE. The ratings are: Excellent, Effective, Continuous Improvement, Academic Watch and, Academic Emergency. Additionally, Cornerstone students in grades 3-6 surpassed the state mandated proficiency level of 75 percent on the Ohio Achievement Tests.
